FAMILY AFFAIR FILMS is an Amsterdam based production company founded by Floor Onrust. We produce topical and contemporary television drama, film short and feature films of high artistic quality with a strong author driven vision. We develop projects with new talent and we nurture relationships with established filmmakers.

HISTORY'S FUTURE, feature debut by artist Fiona Tan, was nominated for the Hivos Tiger Award at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2016 and for the Grant Prize at Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea. The film has been selected for festivals like Edinburgh, Moscow and Vancouver, and the film has been screened at venues among which in the Museum of Moving Image in New York Moving Image, Art Basal and ACMI Melbourne.


Our family film LIFE ACCORDING TO NINO, written by Urszula Antoniak, director Simone van Dusseldorp, in co-production with NTR, Waterland Film (NL), Savage Film (BE) was opening film and winner of Cinekid 2014 and won Best Youth Film at BUFF in Sweden, EACA Award in Poland, Best Film at Ariano in Italy and Jury Award at Sh Jagdish Gandhi in India.


Our feature film CODE BLUE by Urszula Antoniak, coproduced with IDTV Film, VPRO and Zentropa, was selected for Cannes’ Directors Fortnight 2011. We produced the multi award-winning feature film NOTHING PERSONAL by Urszula Antoniak, in coproduction with VPRO, Rinkel Film and Fastnet Films. Family Affair Films produced the video installation DISORIENT by international highly acclaimed artist Fiona Tan, which was selected for the Venice Art Biennale 2009.


Television film THE RETURN OF THE HONEY BUZZARD was broadcast in march 2017. Television film SEASIDE WALKING written by Cecilie Levy and directed by MIRJAM DE WITH, was nominated for the Prix Europa 2016.


In the summer of 2016 two promising productions were shot: Urszula Antoniak’s fourth feature Beyond Words and Rosanne Pel’s feature debut LIGHT AS FEATHERS. Both films will be released in 2017. Guido van Driel’s second feature BLOODY MARIE has been selected for the “Dutch Crossover”, receiving the maximum amount of production support from the Netherlands Film Fund. The shoot is scheduled for the winter of 2017-2018.






After graduating from the Netherlands Film Academy (2001), Floor Onrust founded Family Affair Films in 2002. Floor Onrust participated EAVE in 2011 and Toronto Producer’s Lab in 2015. She is member of the ACE producer’s Network and The European Film Academy.

Finished her Bachelor in Communications and took a course at the Netherlands Film Academy. Noortje was production manager for NOTHING PERSONAL and from november 2011 on she is a permanent employee.

Chris graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy summer 2014, where she studied production. Before the NFA Chris attended a training at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Chris works for the company since 2014.

Malou finished a Bachelor in Media and Culture and a Master in Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam (where she produced a short documentary). Since then she has assisted on several productions in both the production and art department.
