FAMILY AFFAIR FILMS is an Amsterdam-based production company founded by Floor Onrust. We produce high-quality, artistic, topical and contemporary television drama, short films and feature films with a strong author-driven vision. We develop projects with new talent and we nurture our relationships with established filmmakers.

BEYOND WORDS by Urszula Antoniak had its world premiere in Toronto 2017. The film was selected for the San Sebastian IFF 2017 competition and has won awards for Best Cinematography in Poland and Ireland.
HISTORY'S FUTURE, the feature debut by visual artist Fiona Tan, was nominated for the Hivos Tiger Award at Rotterdam IFF 2016 and for the Grand Prize at Jeonju IFF in South Korea. Lead actor Mark O’Halloran was nominated for Best Actor at the Irish National Film Awards. Our (co-)productions include family film LIFE ACCORDING TO NINO (Best film Cinekid 2014 and BUFF 2015) by Simone van Dusseldorp, CODE BLUE (Cannes Directors Fortnight 2011) and multi award-winning feature film NOTHING PERSONAL (6 awards Locarno 2009) both by Urszula Antoniak.

Television film THE RETURN OF THE HONEY BUZZARD (2017), based on the graphic novel by Aimee de Jongh and directed by Stanley Kolk won 2 awards at Slemani IFF. Television film SEASIDE WALKING, written by Cecilie Levy and directed by Mirjam de With, was nominated for the Prix Europa 2016.

Rosanne Pel’s promising debut LIGHT AS FEATHERS will premiere this september in 2018. Guido van Driel’s second feature BLOODY MARIE is now in post-production and will be released at the end of the year.







After graduating from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2001, Floor Onrust founded Family Affair Films in 2002. She participated in EAVE in 2011, Toronto Producer’s Lab in 2015 and EAVE + in 2018. Floor is a member of the ACE producers’ Network and The European Film Academy.

Noortje Wilschut has a bachelor’s degree in communications and took a production course at the Netherlands Film Academy. Noortje was production manager for NOTHING PERSONAL and has been a permanent employee since November 2011.

Chris Stenger studied production at the Netherlands Film Academy after having done the preparatory course at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. She graduated in the summer of 2014 and started working for the company straightaway.
