The shoot from the NPS SHORTS ' Back and Forth Day' from Mirjam de With and 'Mowgli and Fidel' from Janneke van Heesch went very well. The films will premier during this years Dutch Filmfestival in Utrecht.

'Live according to Nino, a new film from Urszula Antoniak has received development contribution from the Dutch Film Fund. 'Life according to Nino' will be coproduced with NPS and Waterland Film.

We are very proud to inform you that NOTHING PERSONAL has been selected for the main competition at the 62nd Locarno International Film Festival. The festival will take place from Auguts 5th till August 15th. The festival hasn't set an exact date yet for our international premiere, but we will inform you as soon as possible.

After years of producing with much plesure, Sanna Fabery de Jonge has decided that she wants to do something else. Sanne will leave Family Affair Films from August 1st 2009 to focus on other activities.
Sanna would like to thank everybody for the good cooperation and hopes to meet again in the film and television branche in the future. Floor Onrust will continue Family Affair Films alone and develope running and new projects. For any questions please contact Family Affair Films.

Together with Urszula Antoniak and Diederik van Rooijen Family Affair Films is selected by the NPS to develop the telefilm 'LIFE ACCORDING TO NINO'. December this year we will hear if we made it through the last round.

At the end of March we shot KING MONKEY. It went very well. Floris-Jan van Luyn, the director, has edit the movie. Right now SHOSHO is working very hard at the animation part of the film. KING MONKEY will premier at the Cinekid Festival 2009.

DISORIENT is very well received at the arttbiënnale of Venice. The work of videoartist Fiona Tan is one of the highlights of the 53rd edition of the tbiënnale, writes British artcritic Laura Cummin in The Observer. The tbiënnale is open untill the 22nd of november this year. At the speciall website for this project you will find more information. The press is very enthousiastic about Tans work, both national and international.

Family Affair Films in Venice for the production of DISORIENT, march 2009.

For the 53nd Biënnale of Venice in 2009, curator Saskia Bos has chosen Fiona Tans work. The Biënnale of Venetië is ain international artmanifestation that is held every two years since 1895 (from june till november) in Venice, Italy. For the presentation in Venice, Tan is working on a new audiovisual installation DISORIENT. FAmily Affair Films will produce this for Fiona and will shoot in Venice from 4-11 of March.

End of March Family Affair Films will shoot the 'Child and Colour' : KING MONKEY, from writer Tjyying Liu and director Floris-Jan van Luyn. KING MONKEY is a short fiction film, partly animated.

Rinkel Film and Family Affair Films are co-producing the feature film NOTHING PERSONAL
Nothing Personal, written by Urszula Antoniak, has been selected to receive a realisation fund as a part of "De Overteek II". "De Oversteek" is a project set up by the Dutch Film Fund in cooperation with the VPRO in which upcoming filmmakers get the chance to make a feature film.
Out of the many entries, 12 synopsises were selected to receive a treatment funding, after which 8 projects were selected to be developed into a scenario. Eventually, only four films were selected for realisation
.
Nothing Personal will start shooting in the fall of 2008.

DUMMY is sold by SND Films to a small Spanish tv canal (Cable)
DUMMY was shown at the KARLOVY VARY festival in the Czech Republic and in November it will also be shown at the KOLKATA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL in Calcutta, India.
DUMMY will compete in the Golden Calf (Gouden Kalf) competition at the 26th Dutch Film Festival. On Wednesday September 13th it will be shown at the official opening of Het Ketelhuis.
DUMMY Dutch Oscar submission 2006!
The short film from the NPS short series 2006, DUMMY, by Diederik van Rooijen, has been chosen to be submitted as the Dutch submission for the Academy Awards for Best Short Live Action Film.
In DUMMY, the perpetrator and the victim reconstruct the biggest mistake of their lives. The cast consists of, among others, Gijs Scholten van Aschat and Fedja van Huet.
On January 23rd, the nominations for Best Short Live Action Film will be made known.

Family Affair Films has started with the production of A WARDROBE FOR CHICKEN SAAR;
a short film by Diederik van Rooijen, based on the screenplay by Burny Bos, and assigned to us by
the Dutch Film Festival, as a result of Burny Bos’ efforts, Guest of the Year 2007.
This short film will be shot during the Dutch Film Festival, from September 26th until the 30th, 2007.
The première will be on October 4th, during the festival. |
