THE YEAR I BECAME 30

 

“The year I became 30” Oversteek project written by Helena van der Meulen, to be directed by Sacha Polak, based on the book from Aaf Brandt Cortius, has been selected for further development. The year I became 30 tells the story of Aagje. This is the year where she will take a chance on her longdistance-off-and-on-flashlight-relationship by taking a leap and jump his way across the ocean. When this is a complete and utter failure she heads back only in possession of her basic-functions to find that even then the light is still on...

 

LOVE, SWEET LOVE

 

“Love, Sweet Love”, a Nu of Nooit project written by Martijn Hillenius and to be directed by Albert Jan van Rees, has been selected for further development. Nu of Nooit is a one time project of the Mediafonds and Z@pp for the development and realisation of cultural diverse youth drama for the targetgroup 8- 12 year. “Love, Sweet Love” is a mini-musical about how unconquerable love returns the candy necklace back to the people.

 

MINA MOES SELECTED FOR PRIX JEUNESSE

 

Mina Moes, the short film directed by Mirjam de WIth, has been selected for the prestigious Prix Jeunesse awards, the most important award for youth programs in the world!
We are very proud and woudl like to congratulate crew & cast! The Prix Jeunesse International 2012 Festival takes place from June 1st until June 6th in Munich, Germany

 

BIEN DE MOOR WINS SPANISH PRIZE

 

Actress Bien de Moor has won the award for best actress at the filmfestival of Seville 2011. She received the award for ther role in Code Blue, directed by Urszala Antoniak. The jury praised the portrayal of de Moor: ' torn and unfulfilled desires that ultamitely lead to the destruction of the human soul'.

 

HUBERT BALS FUND grands contribute to THE BLUE WAVE

 

The HBF Plus program of the Dutch Film Fund and the Hubert Bals Fund of the Rotterdam International Film Festival selected the Turkish film The Blue Wave with Family Affair Films as coproducer. The Hubert Bals Fund supports the film with a contribution of € 50,000 of the Dutch Film Fund.

Loud by Aneta Lesnikovska is selected for the 8th Berlinale Co-Production Market.

Loud by Aneta Lesnikovska is chosen out of 420 projects to participate at CineMart 2011, the co-production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
CineMart takes place from January the 30th till February the 2nd 2011.

Producer Floor Onrust is selected for EAVE European Producer's Workshop 2011with the project of Stranger by Urszula Antoniak. The workshop takes place from 14 till the 21st of March in Luxembourg, 15 till the 22th of June in Fiskebäckskil (Sweden) and will end in October 2011 in Lugano (Switserland).

The shooting of Code Blue, the new feature film of Urszula Antoniak, are finished. De film will probably released in the spring of 2011.

De filming rights of the book ik, Driss (I, Driss), based on the successful series written by Asis Aynan and Hassan Bahara and previously published in the NRC Handelsblad (Dutch newspaper), are sold to Family Affair Films. Urszula Antoniak, director of the film Nothing Personal, will take care of the screenplay.
Hanro Smitsman (Schermer, De Punt and Skin) will be directing the film.

Nothing Personal 2 times nominated for European Film Academy Award!
Leading actress Lotte Verbeek is been nominated in the category Best European Actress.
The film it self is nominated for the European Discovery Award - Prix FIPRESCI.
The ceremony takes place on december 4 in Tallinn (Estonia).
Urszula Antoniak, Lotte Verbeek en producers Reinier Selen and Floor Onrust will be attending the ceremony.

SK8! by Marc Kniphorst is selected for 4 Tuned Cities and will be screened at Pristina, Skopje, Sarajevo and Amsterdam.

Life According to Nino, written and to be directed by Urszula Antoniak, is selected for NPP, The Netherlands Producers Platform, the co-production market of The Netherlands Film Festival. NPP takes place from September 23 till september 27 2010.

Start shooting of the new film of Urszula Antoniak "Code Blue".

On friday 17 september starts the shooting of CODE BLUE, a new film by director and scriptwriter Urszula Antoniak. The leading parts in CODE BLUE are for Bien de Moor and LarsEidinger.
CODE BLUE is a tragedy about a nurse who works at the oncology. The only intimacy she has in her life is the intimacy she has with her patients. One night she watches a violent rape from the window of her apartment. She is not the only who is watching. Now the rape she was watching has created an unwanted intimacy with the man who saw her watching.
CODE BLUE was selected in may 2010 for the Cinefondation in Cannes, that helps (young) directors with the financing of there projects. The shooting takes place in Germany, The Netherlands and Denmark and ends in October.
CODE BLUE is produced by IDTV Film and Family Affair Films in co-production with the VPRO and Zentropa and is fund by the Dutch Film Fund. Distributer Wild Bunch takes care of the film's release in the theaters.



SHOOT 'BACK AND FORTH DAY' AND 'MOWGLI AND FIDEL' WENT VERY WELL!

The shoot from the NPS SHORTS ' Back and Forth Day' from Mirjam de With and 'Mowgli and Fidel' from Janneke van Heesch went very well. The films will premier during this years Dutch Filmfestival in Utrecht.

'Live according to Nino, a new film from Urszula Antoniak has received development contribution from the Dutch Film Fund. 'Life according to Nino' will be coproduced with NPS and Waterland Film.

The drama series 'Wind and Water' from director Mirjam de With for e serie 'Wyn en Wetter' van regisseur Mirjam de With for Omrop Fryslân has recevied development contribution from the Dutch Mediafund.

Nothing Personal has had more then 50.000 visitors in Dutch cinemas. The film is still shown in 18 cinemas.

We are very proud to inform you that NOTHING PERSONAL has been selected for the main competition at the 62nd Locarno International Film Festival. The festival will take place from Auguts 5th till August 15th. The festival hasn't set an exact date yet for our international premiere, but we will inform you as soon as possible.

After years of producing with much plesure, Sanna Fabery de Jonge has decided that she wants to do something else. Sanne will leave Family Affair Films from August 1st 2009 to focus on other activities.

Sanna would like to thank everybody for the good cooperation and hopes to meet again in the film and television branche in the future. Floor Onrust will continue Family Affair Films alone and develope running and new projects. For any questions please contact Family Affair Films.

Together with Urszula Antoniak and Diederik van Rooijen Family Affair Films is selected by the NPS to develop the telefilm 'LIFE ACCORDING TO NINO'. December this year we will hear if we made it through the last round.

At the end of March we shot KING MONKEY. It went very well. Floris-Jan van Luyn, the director, has edit the movie. Right now SHOSHO is working very hard at the animation part of the film. KING MONKEY will premier at the Cinekid Festival 2009.

DISORIENT is very well received at the arttbiënnale of Venice. The work of videoartist Fiona Tan is one of the highlights of the 53rd edition of the tbiënnale, writes British artcritic Laura Cummin in The Observer. The tbiënnale is open untill the 22nd of november this year. At the speciall website for this project you will find more information. The press is very enthousiastic about Tans work, both national and international.

Family Affair Films in Venice for the production of DISORIENT, march 2009.

For the 53nd Biënnale of Venice in 2009, curator Saskia Bos has chosen Fiona Tans work. The Biënnale of Venetië is ain international artmanifestation that is held every two years since 1895 (from june till november) in Venice, Italy. For the presentation in Venice, Tan is working on a new audiovisual installation DISORIENT. FAmily Affair Films will produce this for Fiona and will shoot in Venice from 4-11 of March.

End of March Family Affair Films will shoot the 'Child and Colour' :
KING MONKEY, from writer Tjyying Liu and director Floris-Jan van Luyn. KING MONKEY is a short fiction film, partly animated.

Rinkel Film and Family Affair Films are co-producing the feature film NOTHING PERSONAL

Nothing Personal, written by Urszula Antoniak, has been selected to receive a realisation fund as a part of "De Overteek II". "De Oversteek" is a project set up by the Dutch Film Fund in cooperation with the VPRO in which upcoming filmmakers get the chance to make a feature film.

Out of the many entries, 12 synopsises were selected to receive a treatment funding, after which 8 projects were selected to be developed into a scenario. Eventually, only four films were selected for realisation
.
Nothing Personal will start shooting in the fall of 2008.

DUMMY is sold by SND Films to a small Spanish tv canal (Cable)



DUMMY was shown at the KARLOVY VARY festival in the Czech Republic and in November it will also be shown at the KOLKATA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL in Calcutta, India.

DUMMY will compete in the Golden Calf (Gouden Kalf) competition at the 26th Dutch Film Festival. On Wednesday September 13th it will be shown at the official opening of Het Ketelhuis.

DUMMY Dutch Oscar submission 2006!
The short film from the NPS short series 2006, DUMMY, by Diederik van Rooijen, has been chosen to be submitted as the Dutch submission for the Academy Awards for Best Short Live Action Film.

 

In DUMMY, the perpetrator and the victim reconstruct the biggest mistake of their lives. The cast consists of, among others, Gijs Scholten van Aschat and Fedja van Huet.

On January 23rd, the nominations for Best Short Live Action Film will be made known.

Family Affair Films has started with the production of A WARDROBE FOR CHICKEN SAAR;
a short film by Diederik van Rooijen, based on the screenplay by Burny Bos, and assigned to us by the Dutch Film Festival, as a result of Burny Bos’ efforts, Guest of the Year 2007.

This short film will be shot during the Dutch Film Festival, from September 26th until the 30th, 2007. The première will be on October 4th, during the festival.


 

 

DE BODE can be seen at the LONDON FILM FESTIVAL from October 18th
until November 2nd, 2006 and at the International Children's Film Festival in Chicago in October, 2006.
