FAMILY AFFAIR FILMS is an Amsterdam-based production company founded by Floor Onrust. We produce high-quality, artistic, topical and contemporary television drama, short films and feature films with a strong author-driven vision. We develop projects with new talent and we nurture our relationships with established filmmakers.
Rosanne Pel debut feature LIGHT AS FEATHERS (2018) premiered at TIFF, was selected for competition for Rome IIF, and won two awards, the critics prize and forum for directors award at The Netherlands Film Festival. BEYOND WORDS (2017) by Urszula Antoniak had its world premiere at TIFF, was selected for competition in San Sebastian and has won awards for Best Cinematography and for Best Sound Design in Poland and The Netherlands. BLOODY MARIE by Guido van Driel & Lennert Hillege will be released in 2019.
Our productions include HISTORY'S FUTURE (IFFR 2016), family film LIFE ACCORDING TO NINO (Best film Cinekid 2014 and BUFF 2015) , CODE BLUE (Cannes Directors Fortnight 2011) and multi award-winning feature film NOTHING PERSONAL (6 awards Locarno 2009).
After graduating from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2001, Floor Onrust founded Family Affair Films in 2002. She participated in EAVE in 2011, Toronto Producer’s Lab in 2015 and EAVE + in 2018. Floor is a member of the ACE producers’ Network and The European Film Academy.
Noortje Wilschut has a bachelor’s degree in communications and took a production course at the Netherlands Film Academy. Noortje was production manager for NOTHING PERSONAL and has been a permanent employee since November 2011. Noortje is a member of The European Film Academy.
Chris Stenger studied production at the Netherlands Film Academy after having done a preparatory course at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. She graduated summer of 2014 and started working for the company straightaway.
Thomas van Son
Thomas studied Creative Producing at the Academie voor Theater en Dans (AHK) in Amsterdam.
After graduating he worked as a freelancer for Het Zuidelijk Toneel and Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA).
The film industry is new for him, he’s looking forward to assist the team of Family Affair Films as assistent producer.
Marcel Kennis started working in the movie industry in 2015 when an Amsterdam based production company wanted to shoot in his hometown Eindhoven. Since then he worked on several movies and series as a location manager and production manager. Marcel is production manager for our film Hemelrijken.
Sophie graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2001 and has been working as a freelance production manager and line producer ever since. Sophie is working as production manager for Occupied City and as line producer Holland for Magic Mountains.
Julie obtained her International Baccalaureate Film degree in high school and was accepted to the Netherlands Film Academy in 2014. Now recently graduated, she is looking forward to joining the Family Affair Films team and to participate in various film projects. Julie is currently working on the Telefilm 'Hemelrijken' as assistant production manager.
