Brian (13) and his uncaring father Maurice (42) live in a shabby trailer. When the care institution offers a financial fee for taking care of Brian’s severely mentally disabled brother Lucien (17) during the entire summer holiday, Maurice eagerly agrees. But Brian doesn’t look forward to it, he is afraid of his unpredictable brother.

Maurice works hard to pay his debts, so the care of Lucian is left to Brian. He manages a few times to visit Selma , a mentally disabled girl Brian has met in the institution. For Brian, she embodies both a missing mother figure and a first puppy love.

When Brian is confronted with the death of Lucien’s old roommate, he decides to takebetter care of his brother. Brian sees his brother blossom thanks to his care and help. But when things escalate between Maurice and his creditors and the mobile home is no longer a safe place for Lucien, Brian is forced to make a mature decision, not onlyfor his brother ’s well-being, but also for his own.
